AEMC® Electrical Contracting Products’ 2006 INNOVATION Award Finalist

The following information describes the new multi-function Digital Ground Resistance Tester Model 6470 and Power Quality Analyzer PowerPad® Jr. Model 8230.

AEMC®‘s Ground Resistance Tester Model 6470 and PowerPad® Jr. Model 8230 have been named as product finalists in the Electrical Contracting Products’ 2006 INNOVATION Awards.

This prestigious program recognizes outstanding companies whose products or services have best responded to electrical contractors’ market challenges by offering creative and innovative solutions.

Divided into 16 product categories, the 2006 INNOVATION Awards are judged by a distinguished panel of professional electrical contractors who evaluate each of the product finalists on six criteria:

  • Innovation
  • Ease of use
  • Cost effectiveness
  • Quality contribution
  • Maintainability
  • Productivity improvements

The 2006 INNOVATION Award winners will be recognized at a special ceremony and reception being held at the Hynes Convention Center in Boston on Sunday, October 8th, the first evening of the National Electrical Contractors Association’s Show.

AEMC®‘s new rugged Digital Ground Resistance Tester Model 6470, with automatic calculation of test results, performs ground resistance, earth coupling measurement, soil resistivity, and bonding tests. This easy-to-use instrument stores up to 512 test results in its internal memory for later recall, either to the display or downloaded to a PC for analysis and hard copy reports, including automatic fall of potential plots. Also included, are manual and automatic test frequency selections from 40 to 513Hz for optimum test accuracy in electrically noisy environments.

The PowerPad® Jr. Model 8230 is an easy-to-use, single-phase power quality analyzer that is compact and shock-resistant. It is intended for technicians and engineers to measure and carry out diagnostic work and power quality work on single- or three-phase balanced low voltage networks. Measurements are quick and easy to perform, as is recording of True RMS AC volts up to 600VAC, True RMS current up to 6500AAC, AC power and harmonics as well as DC volts, amps and power. An inrush current capture feature includes the ability to track max and peak values and duration down to a half cycle.

AEMC® is excited that both products have taken the next step in the competition and are now finalists.
