Four-Wire Kelvin Method

The ability to accurately measure low resistances can be critical in applications that involve high current, since even a small change in resistance can have a significant effect on voltage levels. To accommodate this issue, advanced instruments employ a setup known as the four-wire or Kelvin method. AEMC® Instruments offers a family of micro-ohmmeters capable of performing four-wire measurements for load resistance and impedance. These include the Micro-Ohmmeters Models 6240, 6250, 6255, and 6292, as explained in this Application Note.
