L412 Dual-Channel AC Current Data Logger

Two Channels. One Logger. Any Sensor.

The AEMC® Data Logger Model L412 is a dual-channel RMS AC current logger with two universal current probe terminals — compatible with most AEMC® current sensors in the PEL and PowerPad family. Where the L411 gives you one flexible sensor built in, the L412 gives you two configurable channels and the flexibility to choose the right sensor for whatever you're measuring — from 10 mA on a sensitive control circuit up to 25,000 A on a main feeder (using a ratio-configured MN193-BK).

Both channels record 1-second TRMS measurements simultaneously and independently. That 1s trend data — the same granularity as a PEL power analyzer — is fully accessible through the DataView® Control Panel for analysis, comparison, and reporting across both circuits in the same session.

Like the rest of the L400 Series, the L412 runs on its own built-in web server. Connect via Wi-Fi AP mode (its own broadcast network) or Station mode (your facility network), open a browser on any device, you're live - no app, no software install, no laptop required on site. Remote access via DataViewSync™ extends that reach to anywhere with internet access.

Sensors are sold separately.

L1 and L2 — Independent & Simultaneous

Primary Current Input — Channel 1 — L1

Accepts any compatible CA current probe. Frequency measurement is available on Channel 1 only (45.00-65.00 Hz, 0.01 Hz resolution). The L1 input drives the frequency reference for the session.

Measurement range: 0.2% Inom — 120% Inom

Uncertainty: ±(1% R + 0.1% Inom)

Secondary Current Input — Channel 2 — L2

Logs independently from L1 with identical measurement specifications. If two sensors are connected, they must be the same model. If sensors don't match, the OL indicator blinks as a warning. L2 does not measure frequency.

Measurement range: 0.2% Inom — 120% Inom

Uncertainty: ±(1% R + 0.1% Inom)

Choose Your Recording Strategy

NORMAL MODE

Continuous 1-Second Sampling

Both channels are never in standby. A True RMS measurement is taken and stored every second on L1 and L2 for the full duration of the sessions — the same operational model as PEL power logger. Aggregated values are calculated from the complete 1s dataset on each channel independently.

Best for: simultaneous load comparison, verifying current balance between two circuits, control circuit monitoring, and any application where complete 1s trend data is required.

1s measurement interval — continuous, no sleep

EXTENDED MODE

Snapshot Measurements — Up to 10 Weeks

The instrument sleeps between recordings. A 1-second TRMS snapshot is taken on both channels at each preset interval (e.g., every 1 or 15 minutes) and the instrument returns to sleep. Fewer data points per channel, but dramatically longer battery life for extended unattended deployments.

Best for: long-term monitoring of two circuits simultaneously — standby consumption trending, seasonal load studies, or remote sites where battery replacement isn't practical.

Dual-Circuit Load Monitoring

Monitor two feeders, phases, or branch circuits simultaneously and compare load profiles side by side in DataView®. Identify imbalance, verify load distribution, and spot demand anomalies across both channels in the same recording session.

Low-Level Control Circuit Monitoring

Track low-level current draw on two channels simultaneously using high-resolution current probes — such as verifying HVAC control circuits or monitoring standby consumption on sensitive equipment. The MN193-BK 5A probe resolves current down to 100 mA, capturing draw that standard clamps can't see.

Before & After Efficiency Studies

Log current on two circuits simultaneously — one upstream, one downstream of a VFD, power conditioner, or efficiency upgrade — to document real-world energy reduction. Both channels run at 1-second resolution for precise comparison.

High-Current Main Feeder Logging

Deploy AmpFlex® or MiniFlex® sensors on large conductors — bus bars, main feeders, transformer secondaries — with 1-second trending up to 25,000 A using the MN193-BK ratio configuration. Log both the main and a sub-feed simultaneously.

Predictive Maintenance — Two Assets

Baseline two motors, compressors, or HVAC units in a single deployment. Extended mode lets you monitor both for up to 10 weeks on a single set of batteries — flag current drift on either channel before the next scheduled maintenance window.

Leave the L412 logging two circuits in a remote switchgear room or utility vault. Retrieve data wirelessly via DataViewSync™ from anywhere with internet access, or walk up and pull both channels from your browser in AP mode — no laptop required.
